How does it work?

1. After receiving payment of $249.99 (Check or by Credit Card through PayPal), I will supply you with my proprietary Information Technology survey form.

2. You complete the survey to the best of your ability and fax it back to me. (There may be questions that you cannot answer.) This information will get my work started.

3. After I've had an opportunity to review your answers, I will call you and schedule an initial meeting with you and any key staff to discuss your survey answers, and to clarify the items you were unable to answer. (These typically last 60-120 minutes depending on circumstances.)

4. I go away and digest all of my notes, and produce a written assessment. It will probably be necessary to meet once more for 30-60 minutes during this time period although it may be possible to answer questions with phone calls.

5. We will meet in person to review the written report, and to discuss and  prioritize the key issues. This meeting typically lasts from 30-90 minutes.

I don't have any IT environment, how can you help me?

If you have no IT environment, no computers, no website, etc., you have the most to gain, and the most to lose. As you confront the increasing pressures to adopt computers and technology into your business, it is absolutely critical that you do it with careful planning. In this case, you will still need to complete the survey, because there are many questions about your business as well as technology questions.

How much time will you spend with me?

It is likely that I will spend 3-5 hours working face-to-face with you and members of your organization. The assessment typically requires an additional 3-5 hours away from your office for me to complete. This means that for less than $250 you are receiving up to 10 hours of consulting assistance.

What will I receive?

In addition to the 3-5 hours of direct consultant contact time, you will receive a written report describing where you are now, and a discussion of the IT issues related to where you are trying to go with your business. In the final meeting, we will have an opportunity to discuss these issues and I will assist you in prioritizing them.

OK, my business is not so small, will you still do the assessment?

If you think your business is too large to complete this assessment in 10 hours, let's discuss it and see if I think it will fit or if we need to discuss other arrangements. If after I receive your completed survey, it is apparent that the project is too large to fit into the intent of this special, I will contact you to make other arrangements or refund the fee.

What types of businesses will you work with?

I have worked with a variety of businesses and non-profits, including: retail, food service, churches, architects, private schools, karate schools, graphic arts and prepress, and general office environments. If after receiving your survey answers I feel I am not qualified to help you, I will return the survey to you and refund the fee.

Will the information I supply on the survey remain confidential?

Absolutely.

Why are you offering this special?

I have worked with dozens of small businesses over the last 18 years, and hiring a consultant is always a HUGE step. I am using this opportunity to show business owners like yourself that it can be a very valuable tool, and at the same time one in which cost is controllable by the business owner.

Can this entire process be handled by phone?

Yes, but not nearly as effectively as with face-to-face meetings. If you are interested in proceeding, and face-to-face meetings are not practical because of distance, etc., let me know and I'll try to adapt to the special circumstances.

What geographical area do you serve?

This special extends throughout the Washtenaw County, Michigan area. If your business is outside Washtenaw County, and you are interested in the assessment, let me know where you are located, and I'll come up with the changes I think I'll need to make to adapt to your location. (For example, there will need to be some kind of mileage charge.)
